Atlantic Philanthropies
ANNUAL REPORT
The Atlantic Philanthropies is the world’s largest limited-life foundation, dedicated to spending down its entire multi-billion endowment by 2020 on select grantees in four areas of need: aging, disadvantaged children & youth, population health and reconciliation & human rights. The Atlantic Philanthropies concentrates its grant-making efforts in seven global regions and undertakes a rigorous selection and evaluation process to ensure the effectiveness of its efforts.
When Atlantic Philanthropies approached Rogue Element to design and produce its first printed annual report, the organization was facing several communication challenges. Atlantic Philanthropies had previously avoided publicity about the organization’s specific activities. However, the Philanthropy now needed to raise its profile in the philanthropic community and promote the efforts of its grantees, who must find other funding sources by 2020 when Atlantic will have completed its mission.
Rogue Element worked closely with Atlantic Philanthropies to develop an annual report that provided a clearly-organized and comprehensive overview of its grant making criteria, activities and outcomes while prominently profiling key grantees in the Philanthropy’s areas of focus. The report was organized around areas of activity and highlighted the inputs, activities and outcomes from giving. Sidebars and callouts were used to profile key grantees whose stories illustrate effective giving.
