At the turn of the Twentieth Century, The 3Arts Club of Chicago was established to provide opportunities and living space for young women to learn the three disciplines of music, theater, and visual arts. The founders hired some of the best architects in Chicago to create an architectural gem to house the club. Over the past century, the mission expanded to serve the elderly, youth, and underserved communities, while the building itself fell slowly under disrepair. Now requiring massive restoration as well as a reinvention of the original mission, a capital campaign was launched to raise funds to renovate their historic building in Chicago’s Gold Coast and transform it into a major arts center with display and performance spaces as well as affordable living space for artists.
The 3Arts Club required capital campaign materials to explain the goals of the restoration and reorganization. A comprehensive look and feel was designed to reflect the innovative approach of including theater, music and visual arts in one community space. Using the color palette from the building’s mosaics, die-cuts to reveal the architectural details, and playing off the idea of ‘three’ in 3Arts, we juxtaposed the building’s beauty with the activities that take place inside. Deliverables included a brochure with pocketfolder, customizable inserts, website, stationery system and thank you notecard for donors.
The 3Arts Club of Chicago was able to raise over six million dollars in private donations within the first week of using the new campaign materials.
