Making hot air into holiday fun

Every year I go up to Mundelein to my friend Jim Wilbat's glass studio and make hand blown ornaments as end-of-year gifts for our clients. "Wait, hand blown ornaments?" you may ask? Well, yes. I was a glassblowing minor in college, along with my design major. For a time I made lots of things: vases, bowls, sculptures, and even a table-top or two. But since we've grown the design firm, I really only get to make glass these days a few times a year. Other design firms create cards, wrapping paper, gift tags, or other things that can be designed. But since I have a unique skill that is truly applicable for the holidays, I use it.
